Mega Park
The balance of human nature and architecture in th
PROJECT BACKGROUND
Kowloon Bay was originally a core industrial district in Hong Kong that focused mainly on industrial development. The district planning lacked human-centered designs including parks, public facilities, and landscapes. After the 90s, the government decided to redevelop this district, and Kowloon Bay has since become a core business district. Many old industrial buildings have been repurposed into commercial buildings that have attracted many local entrepreneurs. Unfortunately, being the only green space in this business district, the Zero Carbon Park has failed to cater to the needs of families, teenagers, and entrepreneurs because of poor project arrangements and inadequate services and facilities.
PROJECT CONCEPT
The concept of our team is to adopt an approach of patch repair. Through the application of different materials and zoning arrangements, the site will become a fully functional green space to meet the demand for leisure and recreation needs of multiple generations in Kowloon Bay.
