Baroque started from religious pursuit but ended up transforming into extravagant ornaments that embody human obsession in allure. As the celebrities in Studio 54 want to attract the public and media, the design should be exaggerated and attractive. Hence, shiny and dazzling elements can be added. As Halston Halter dress and jumpsuit were popular in the 1970s, therefore I decided to add those silhouettes into my design.
Combining the feature of Baroque and 1970’s clubbing culture, I took references from Baroque art, furniture, and architecture. In fact, all these items, including religious elements and flowers, leaves, and cherubs sculptures, are highly detailed and ornamental.
