PROJECT BACKGROUND
Dining is challenging for visually impaired persons, and it is difficult for them to enjoy the dining experience with friends and family.
PROJECT CONCEPT
For visually impaired persons who can see high-contrast colors, locating and setting tableware is still difficult as the level of contrast between the color of tableware and the table may be low. Sometimes food spillage will also occur while scooping food from the plate, which can ruin the dining experience. Relish tableware is designed to aid visually impaired persons to enjoy dinner with their friends and family. The set includes table mats, bowls, plates, sauce plates, spoons, public spoons, and chopsticks. Each of them has features that help provide a more relishing dining experience to visually impaired persons. The table mat has tactile textures to differentiate the location of tableware. Meanwhile, each item has a contrasting color designed to help locate the tableware easily.
