sociō - Modular Social Housing

PROJECT BACKGROUND

Hong Kong has a sizeable ethnic minority community who may encounter difficulties when seeking employment, education, housing and health care resources. The site selected for this project has a long history of public housing development. In this regard, co-living not only brings relief to housing shortage, but also creates harmony among different ethnic groups, families, and more.

PROJECT CONCEPT

Each member of our community acts as a component. As we join together, a greater and stronger group will strive a for better future for the community. The design is to “ join” three key aspects together, in which old building & new construct units are joined by ramps with different zones connected, communal & private areas to join the activities and living of the residence together, and residents & small businesses to join and live together.
